Línguas Indígenas Americanas - LIAMES
Is an academic journal specializing in Native American languages, published under the auspices of the Department of Linguistics, Institute of Language Studies (IEL), State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), and located in Campinas, São Paulo State, Brazil.
This publication brings together, in one place, the scientific interest in the understanding, analysis, and comparative study of a large set of natural languages spoken by the indigenous societies of the Americas, and a commitment to the respect and support for these societies, their cultures, and their rights.
LIAMES has as its focus the indigenous languages spoken in all of Americas, with a special interest in contributing to greater collaboration between South American researchers.
This journal is open to all researchers in Native American languages, making its pages available for the dissemination of articles, reviews, interviews, and any other academic communications regarding research or events related to these languages.
Submissions, in anonymous copies, will be reviewed by two specialists (Double Blind Peer Review), acting as reviewers, who will evaluate the merits of the submission and its appropriateness to the scope of the journal.
In accord with the editorial policy of the journal, submissions will be accepted not only in Portuguese, but in also Spanish and English, and eventually in French and Italian. Two abstracts are required with each submission, one in Portuguese or Spanish and the other in English. They should be no more than ten lines in length and include five key words.
