GRADUATE PROGRAM IN POPULARIZATION OF SCIENCE AND CULTURE

Master’s (12 to 30 months)

The Master’s in Popularization of Science and Culture aims to produce a hybrid professional who can work with the notion of a global system of science and technology and at the same time have sufficient cultural training to produce critical, reflective analyses, whether of advances in science and technology, the ways in which science is actually popularized in our society or contemporary artistic or cultural events. The main aim of the program is to produce researchers and journalists who can undertake broader studies of the popularization of science and culture from various perspectives, while always seeking connections between them. The program seeks to produce professionals who are able to discuss the popularization of science and culture in Brazil and undertake specific research in this field, thus providing critical reflection on how this important area of knowledge is being applied and addressed in Brazil.

MASTER’S DEGREE IN SCIENTIFIC AND CULTURAL DISSEMINATION (81M)

Completion of the Program

The minimum and maximum time limits for completing the Master’s Degree in Scientific and Cultural Dissemination are 12 and 30 months, respectively. In the case of scholarship students, the maximum period will be reduced in accordance with the commitments made with the funding agencies (CAPES, CNPq, FAPESP).

To obtain the Master's Degree, students must fulfill a total of 16 credits in courses and be approved in the defense of dissertation.
