Program Graduates
The aim of the Literary Studies program at UNICAMP is to produce graduates who have specialized in literature, including literary production, theory, criticism, and historiography.
Bachelor’s Degree -Graduates from this program will have received an introductory training in academic research in various fields of literary studies: Brazilian literature and culture, and literary theory, criticism, history and historiography. This training will prepare them for graduate studies and a university teaching career. Graduates will also be able to work in creative and research activities in various fields ? such as the publishing industry, scriptwriting for audiovisual productions, literary criticism, specialized journalism, the printed and electronic media, advertising and publicity ? associated with a knowledge of and the practice of prose, poetry and other literary genres. As their training is both specialized and generalist, graduates can work as writers, editors, revisers, technical advisors, technical consultants and critics in all these fields, not to mention areas bordering on the arts and humanities.
Program Completion 
To graduate from this program students must obtain a total of 160 credits, corresponding to 2400 hours of supervised activities, which may be completed in 8 semesters, as shown in the unit’s suggested curriculum schedule, or up to a maximum of 12 semesters.
